Hey everyone.
So whether you make websites and design the templates or just work on random things in photoshop, it’s always good to have seen tutorials on how to do certain things or have some special brushes and patterns on hand to make your designs appealing to others. I have a few sites bookmarked that are either linked to tutorials or brush/pattern downloads or just other design-based sites and decided I’d just share them with the rest of you guys.

So if you haven’t heard or seen on the news lately, David Blaine, that daredevil magician, held his breath under water for 17 minutes and 4 seconds on Wednesday, April 30th.
…17 minutes… Wow. As you can imagine, he set a new world record for amount of time holding your breath. Pretty amazing. That’s pretty much like holding your breath for your entire shower, which, I’m pretty sure none of you can do. (I can.)

The average person can hold their breath for, what, like 2 minutes or so. After doing a little reading on the subject, they say that with just a little bit of practice that number can rise dramatically. So, you guys get to it.
Seriously…

On another note, I’ve been adding about 2 or 3 affiliates a week to the site, which is pretty good. If you have a site, just toss me an email or use the contact form and I’ll slap up your banner. Also, if you want to advertise on the site for just $2 a month, contact me too.
As for animations and comics and stuff, I haven’t been working on much lately. Kinda lazy. I’ll start soon on something. I’m thinking of working on “Madness Cupcake” all the way to September (for Madness Day on NG) so by the time September comes along, it’ll be long as hell and hopefully pretty action-y.
Okay, that’s enough for now.
(By the way, press that Digg button right down here, do it, do it NOW.)
Hi.
How’s it goin’?…
Good, good… how’s the wife and kids?
Really? Sounds great…
Okay, that’s enough of that, time for another random post. This one will be focused on Google’s 3D application, SketchUp.

I’m sure you heard of it, but if you haven’t, here’s a quick run down. Google SketchUp is software that you can use to create, modify, and share 3D models. It’s easier to learn than other 3D modeling programs, which is why so many people are already using it. It’s mostly used to create buildings and houses and things of that sort, but you can create anything you want with it, really.
I’ve used it, and on only my second ‘real’ try at the program, I was able to create a decent version of my house. Now, I didn’t do it in one day, but whenever I was bored I went over and added a little here and there, and this is what I got: Looky. Came out pretty good in my opinion, but I definitely know that if I start again, I can make it better.
Anyway…SketchUp. I definitely recommend downloading it. Even if you’re not into architecture or anything like that (I’m not), it’s a good program.

Hey everyone.
I’d imagine most of you have heard of Pivot Stickfigure Animator if you’re coming to this site (a mostly animation-based site). If you haven’t then hopefully this post will enlighten you a little bit.
For those of you who don’t have flash and can’t get it, but still want to try out animating, Pivot is the answer. It was the first thing that Rid and I found a few years back that got us into animating and even though I don’t use it anymore, I still have it on my computer along with some of the .stk’s that I used. (Don’t have any animations anymore, as they were with my other computer when it ’sploded).

Pivot is a very small and simple animation program, definitely no where as powerful and complicated as flash, but it’s still a worthy opponent in it’s own way. At first, most of your animations with it will be short, uncolorful, and simple. But once you see other amazing Pivot animations made by others, you’ll start learning new techniques and better ways to do certain things. See the bottom of this post for some links to some of these animations, as well as some pivot-based sites and places to download pivot and some .stk’s.
Unlike flash, you don’t actually “draw” in Pivot, you “build”. You build stickfigures that you will use in your animations and add pivot points to them. These points are where you can rotate and move the limbs/parts of your figure to animate it. This is where Pivot can be seen as more simpler and easier than flash, as you don’t have to redraw every frame or worry about individual body parts in different layers, etc…

Hey everyone.
Most of you that view this site are kids (18 and lower)…at least I hope. So this means, most of you go to school…at least I hope. To my knowledge, most schools have filters that prohibit students from going to non-school related sites, such as myspace and facebook, etc… Well, forthelose.org is here to help. ![]()
See our new link up there next to “Links”? Just click that to be brought to the Forthelose.org Proxy that’ll help you get by those annoying school filters. Have fun.
