And another week down. It was a very mellow week for me, as I only had school on Monday due to state testing. I also had all of my weekly posts done last Saturday. So, as you can imagine, I had alot of free time on my hands for my own personal projects. I launched two niche sites this week and will be applying different styles of monetization on both of them. I'm curious to see what happens, and have very good expectations for the both of them. I'll report which one did better and the technique I used in an upcoming post.

Week in Review

This week was a pretty exciting week in the ForTheLose.org community. Rock Solid was released and boy, it was a pretty big success. As of right now, there have been over 750 downloads of the theme, and it's only been 6 days! That's over 100 downloads a day. Let's see how long this rate continues.

I also made posts this week about 7 WordPress Theme Trends and How to Implement Them Yourself and a review of the WPWebHost.com Web Hosting service (I also included a coupon in that post that's only good for the month of March, so get it while it's hot!). Oh, and the Saturday Snippet featured a way to make unordered and ordered lists display side by side instead of in a straight vertical column.

Lets see what other great posts were made in the blogosphere during the week of March 1st to March 8th, 2009, shall we?

The most helpful post of the week goes to NetTuts. Without them and their article about how to speed up coding time, I would have never found Texter. It's a great little program that I find myself using for alot of other non-coding things as well, like filling in comment forms on sites. I also enjoyed (and learned something new from) CSS-Tricks' post about remote linking with CSS. I've never been comfortable using things like absolute positioning and whatnot, but it doesn't seem so bad when it's explained in great detail.

Plans and Whatnot

I don't have to go in for school until Wednesday, so I still have some time to myself. I plan on using that time working on my two niche sites and some other miscellaneous web nonsense. I also recently purchased Left 4 Dead for the PC over Steam and am currently fighting an addiction over it, so, we'll see how that goes. I hope to get started on a new theme soon, I'm thinking a clean looking minimalist design, for those with side-blogs. We'll see. Have a great Sunday guys.
