And another week down. Glad to say to all of those who have been following my expeditions on Twitter that those ad networks I've been waiting to get a response from have finally contacted me and I can finally get my second niche site project underway. Now that I have that hurdle jumped, time to move onto new things.
I'm hoping to get a new WordPress theme underway sometime this week. Like I mentioned before, it'll probably be a minimalist design. Nothing as big as Rock Solid and, of course, free for download. If you have any suggestions or are looking for a WordPress theme, just leave a comment. I'll probably end up adding in your suggestion!
Week in Review
The week of March 15th to March 22nd, 2009 was another pretty good one in terms of useful posts. Here on ForTheLose.org, I made posts about how to widgetize your WordPress theme, 11 tips for speeding up WordPress theme development, and on Friday I released my first FTL Freebie, the FTL Social Icon Pack. All in all it was a pretty big week for us over here, but what about the rest of the blogosphere?

I really enjoyed the post from NetTuts on how to build the news scroller widget. I'm thinking about applying it to my next WordPress theme because of how compact it is. The post of making a living with WordPress from ThemePlayground was really great too and was very inspirational to me.
Plans and Whatnot
I'm not gonna let the cat out of the bag or anything, but if I were one of the ForTheLose.org readers, I'd be sure to check in tomorrow. I have this gut feeling something big is coming. Just call it a hunch.

To make a living on just wordpress themes, seems a bit sketchy to me. I wouldn't just try to fall back on themes. Maybe expand the work to regulars sites and Logo+ Print work. The amount of free themes becoming more available, it would seem the less people buying themes. There are the few that want a fully custom and personal theme, but some people can do that with a free theme and tweak it to there liking. I also managed to read the finding inspiration article this week and I agree that sometimes working at home puts a pause on your creativity, well for me. I agree with some point that, the article had.
