If you didn't read the post below this, Ralph is very busy with V5, so I decided I should write this before it's way too late. I saw this movie a few weeks ago and was planning to review it, but my lazyness got the best of me. Surprising, isn't it? Onto the review!
Jim Carrey's at it again, but can Yes Man surpass his previous efforts like the classic, but very similar Liar Liar? To be honest, I walked into this movie expecting nothing amazing, but still entertaining enough to keep me laughing. Surely enough, those expectations were met. I think Jim Carrey is an amazing comedian and actor, but lately his movies haven't been the best they can be just because of the writing and casting for him. I think we're just waiting for another Ace Ventura type film, that is just plain out hilarious and flawless. But until then, we still have Yes Man.
For those of you who haven't seen, or aren't familiar with this movie, here's the trailer and synopsis...
Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is a guy whose life is going nowhere—the operative word being "no"—until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple covenant: say yes to everything...and anything.
Unleashing the power of "YES" begins to transform Carl's life in amazing and unexpected ways, getting him promoted at work and opening the door to a new romance. But his willingness to embrace every opportunity might just become too much of a good thing.
For my final thoughts, overall I think this movie could've been a lot better, but it was still very entertaining. It had me laughing pretty hard in bits and I definitely enjoyed watching it. It wasn't the greatest Jim Carrey film, but it wasn't the worst either. I would only recommend it if you really liked Liar Liar or Jim Carrey films in general (although, most people do). Until next time, that's all I've got for Yes Man! Let us know what you thought of it in the comments.

My final rating: ★★★☆☆
