Why hello there all you interweb surfers.  Notice anything different about the site?

One would hope that you answered 'yes' to that question.  Yes, version 3.0 of ForTheLose.org has been released.  I gotta take a sentence or two to pat myself on the back here.  I mean, I made this template totally from scratch in less than a week (see what summer vacation does to my productivity?).

So, whats new about the site?

I'm 100% more proud of this template compared to the old one for a number of reasons.  The biggest reason, and probably the one you guys care about the least, is the fact that the site is xhtml and css valid to the w3 standards.  (Note: CSS isn't 100% valid, but it's not my fault.  It's from the stylesheet that I downloaded for the contact forms, I didn't actually write it.  My stylesheet for the site is totally correct.)  For those of you that aren't web designers and/or don't know what this means, it basically means that I didn't "take any shortcuts" and made sure that the code I used to create this site is 100% correct.  No errors or flaws.

This template also sports a much cleaner and more appealing layout.  This is one of the major aspects of the site I wanted to work on.  Version 2 was much too small and compact, and the sidebar was cluttered as hell.  This brings me to my other point.  I removed the annoying (and ugly) Bidvertiser ads from the site.  They weren't making me any money and were just taking up space.  I'm going to keep Text-Link-Ads, as they are doing well for me, $30 a month.

One more point about the layout that I think is really cool is the way I incorporated our characters all around the site.  I think it gives the site a little more personality than just a regular generic wordpress theme.

A new feature added to the site is the wordpress plugin OIO publisher.  I'll make a newspost about this GREAT wordpress plugin later this week, but what it basically does is help anyone who wants to advertise their site/product on ForTheLose.org do so with incredible ease and on a timely fashion.  You can have your banner listed over on the sidebar for 31 days for only $5 a month, or have a text link under "Forthelose.org Friends" for just $2 for 31 days, more info on the Advertise page.

I think I basically covered all of the bases...  Besides the small things, like the list of tags and topics in the sidebar to help you users navigate the site easier, I think thats all to talk about.

So, what are my plans for the rest of the summer?

Well, now that I got version 3.0 out of the way, I plan on working on my WIP animation Madness Cupcake.  I want to have it finished by the middle of September for Madness Day on NewGrounds.com on September 22nd.  For those of you that don't know, I won in 13th place last Madness Day and received a few really nice prizes.  So that's definitely one of my priorities.

Rid and I also have another project that we're thinking about doing.  It's so much in the infant stage that I don't even feel it's worth mentioning.  But it we do go through with it, I might let you guys in on it ;) .

Over the next few days, I'll be adding a little more content on have onto the site, including an "Unfinished" section to the site, where Rid and I will post our unfinished and "dead" animations.  I'll try to get the Downloads page updated as well.

That's all for now.  It's 11:30pm at night and I had a long ass day.  I don't want to see anymore css code for as long as I live right now :) .
