Theme in the Works: Wild Tint

What's up guys. Today I would like to announce a new free WordPress theme I have in the works for all of my good ol' reliable readers. I'll be calling it Wild Tint, and for good reason too. The main feature of this theme will be the very simple option of changing the entire look of the theme just by changing a few color values in the Theme Options area. Literally, there are pretty much an endless number of color combinations you can make with this theme, meaning no matter how many people download this theme, you can have a unique looking site design of your own.

The image below just show's the default blue/gold the theme will come in.

Another great thing about this theme is the logo area. Whenever I release a theme where the logo area is text instead of an image, I always get people asking me how to get their picture up there (since they don't want the text). Same thing when I release a theme where the logo area is an image instead of text. To remedy this problem, I made it so you can choose what you want displayed (an image logo or just plain text) in the header area.

Anyway, today I'll be spending the day getting this theme coded up in WordPress, so it should technically be ready for download sometime tonight or tomorrow, but I may have to hold it back for a few days at the most. Expect it released soon!

Well if we're going to pick apart his design, I'd say that the header looks like an over-excessive use of gradients. And the whole torn paper thing is really overdone on the web these days...

It's easily changeable to a different type of texture. (Examples- fiber carbon, stroke lines, etc...)

Any suggestions toss em out.

That's actually what I have going on in the footer. I applied it to the header to see what it'd look like, and it just didn't fly.

I think it would be a lot better if the header & footer matched better. Right now the footer and header look quite different as if they are part of separate themes.

I like the blue color scheme, but I tend to gravitate toward the 3 column themes. Regardless, I like the way you handled the header and placed the nav along the top.

Yes I really like the blue and white theme too. It makes for a very readable blog. Personally I don't like the edges of the screen to be white background too though. In my opinion, it looks better to use a darker background color on the sides. When it is all white things appear to just be floating.

It's interesting that you choose to bash the header. It seems like it is the main element that this theme was built around. I can see what he was going for, but something about it just doesn't look right.
