Theme Re-Release: Stitches

That's right. Another WordPress theme release from ForTheLose.org. Well, sort of. I'm re-releasing my premium WordPress theme Stitches, only this time around, it's completely free of charge! Ain't that just dandy?

Wait, how come?

Well, I released Stitches a few months ago. It didn't sell at all when it was advertised only here on my site, so I instead went and put it on ThemeForest.net, where it was priced at a measly $25. Crap, if you ask me. Anyway, from there, I sold a total of 3 copies. Thing is, I don't even get all of the profits. I only received 12% of each purchase. It's understandable that I think that is complete bullshit. I put all of that work into a theme for $18? Ha.

So this past weekend I decided I would just give the theme away for free so at least the ForTheLose.org readers can enjoy it. I asked the ThemeForest.net crew to take down my theme from their store, so hopefully they comply before some poor sap wanders in there to buy it.

ThemeForest offers some really great themes, but their commission rates for designers is crap. You ought to be getting at least 50% per sale to start with. 12%? Now I almost feel bad for buying anything there.

A cool theme.. I like it.

Just found one issue.

My blog address is different from wordpress installation path.

The function call "get_bloginfo('wpurl')" under functions.php should be replaced with "get_bloginfo('url')" or else the category links in the sidebar will not work.

You should update the function "desc_cats()",

Hope this will help others facing this issue.

I'm using this theme now, thanks! It has some problems I'm trying to work through (like changing the name of the custom field from image to thumbnail isn't working except on the featured posts) but it's a pretty easy theme to work with.
