Alrighty. I like doing these types of posts, they seem like they are pretty informative and help you guys out. The topic of this post is just three of my favorite sites on the internet. One of them is a great time-waster, another is a really useful photoshop-based site, and the last is a great resource for freelance designers!
Failblog.org
I'm sure you've heard of FailBlog.org, right? It's one of the funniest sites on the internet for sure. If you're not familiar with the site, you're most likely familiar with it's content, whether you know it or not. Ever see a video of a biker ride 30mph into a street sign? How about a video of little kids coming out of a phallic-shaped slide? If so, you've seen some of the stuff that Failblog.org has to offer. Once you visit this site, it's hard to leave.
PSDTuts.com
This is one of the best sites I've ever seen, in terms of quality, that is. Usually tutorials are just, eh. Their just tutorials. Nothing special. Some steps on how to do something with some pictures to accompany them. This is definately not how PSDTuts is. Each tutorial is like a book. Not in a bad way, like a rambling rant or something, I mean a really meaningful and descriptive book. Once you come across one of their tutorials, you'll find yourself browsing their other articles just for fun.
99Designs.com
I remember when I first came across 99Designs a few months back. I thought it was one of the coolest sites ever. The site is basically this. Someone launches a contest for a logo they need or something. (Could be anything really.) They offer a cash prize, usually $300 - $1,000, for the winning design that they think is the best in their opinion. You can figure out the rest from here, right? I was new to the whole "design thing" when I first came across this site, so I never won anything. I'd like to jump in again now and start raking in some nice cash. Maybe once my schedule lightens up...
Well, there you guys go. I hope at least one of the above sites is new to you and that it will soon be one of the sites you visit daily. After ForTheLose.org, that is.
