Before I start this post, I'd like to thank all the ForTheLose.org sponsors that have eagerly rented space on the site for their websites and products, which in turn, helps me to keep the site going. Go check them out as our way of saying thanks.

Also, happy Fourth of July to all of those in the US.

Okay.  Time to get down to business.  Warrock...  I know I made a post about this in Version 2.0 of the site, but since I had to wipe the database, I figure I'd make another post about it, because it's that good.  Warrock, or War Rock (which I think is the official name), is a free2play online first person shooter set in modern times.  There are two teams, NIU and Derbaran armies.  Each game, you are enlisted into one of these groups, and most of the time, the objective is to just stay alive and kill everyone on the other side.

(Image of me being blown out of my plane and falling lifelessly to the ground.)

There are three different types of play - Close Quarters Combat, Urban Operations, and Battle Group.  Close Quarters Combat (CQC) is the most popular of the three.  The two teams are split up into groups of 8 or 16 and thrown onto a relatively small map.  This is the shortest type of game and is only around 7 rounds long... about 15 minutes.  The objective for the Debaran side is to either kill all the enemies on the opposite team to end the current round or to plant a bomb in the NIU base and keep it protected until it explodes.  The objectives for the NIU team is generally the same - to kill everyone on the other side or to defuse the bomb if it is planted.

Urban Operations (UO) and Battle Group (BG) are relatively the same thing... I really don't know what the difference is between them.  These two types of play are the longest, from beginning to end, usually 30 - 60 minutes.  These types of games are played on bigger maps... alot bigger.  Another feature of these types of games is the use of vehicles.  Vehicles range from motorcycle's and humvee's to helicopter's and planes to even boats, your regular land, sea, and air.  At the start of the game, each team has a set score of (usually) 300.  Everytime someone is killed, his team loses one point.  Every time a team loses a base, they lose a point.    The objective is to get your opponents score to zero and, whalla, you win.  Simple, no?

Well, I think I went into a lot more detail then was needed... and I can still think of other things that I should talk about, like the option to purchase a premium membership, which allows you access to stronger guns and special items.

Overall, it's a really fun game, probably not as good as fps's like Call of Duty and Counter Strike, but again, it's free.  If you want to check it out or even download it, here is the link to the main site: http://www.warrock.net/.

If you're ever on, pm Rid or I and see if we're on.  I'm ralph2391 and he is campkill96.  Hope to see you on the battlefield or whatever...

PS-  We have videos of Rid and I playing Warrock on the Videos page of the site.  If you're interested, go check them out.
